MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – For the second year in a row, Middle Tennessee is set to host the 2026 Conference USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships beginning May 14 at the Dean A. Hayes Track & Soccer Stadium in Murfreesboro, Tenn. The championship will feature three full days of events before a winner is crowned Saturday, May 16.
 
Last season, the Lady Flames claimed the title on the women’s side while Kennesaw State won for the men. Liberty’s women’s squad led the field by over 60 points, collecting 178.5 points for the win. The race was tighter on the men’s side as the Owls bested their competition with a 5.5 point advantage, recording a total score of 216.5.
 
Competition will begin Thursday morning at 9:30 a.m. CT with the multi-events. The first five events of the men’s decathlon and the first four women’s heptathlon events will take place throughout the morning, followed by the start of field events at 2 p.m. On the track, prelims will open at 6 p.m. with the men’s 1,500-meter run. There will be two finals that will take place on the track Thursday night, including the men’s and women’s 10,000-meter run which will start at 8:20 p.m. and 9 p.m., respectively.
 
Multi-events will conclude on Friday. The final event of the heptathlon will be the 800-meter run, set to begin at 1:30 p.m., followed by the 1,500-meter decathlon finale at 2:15 p.m. Field finals will continue at 3 p.m., starting with the men’s shot put, while track prelims pick back up at 6:30 p.m. in the men’s 800-meter run. Friday night will feature two more finals on the track with the men’s and women’s steeplechase.
 
Championship day will begin Saturday morning with the men’s javelin throw at 11 a.m. The final field event is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. with the women’s triple jump. All the finals will take place on the track Saturday evening, beginning with the men’s 4x100-meter relay at 6 p.m. The championship will wrap up with the women’s 4x400-meter relay at 9 p.m. before naming the team champions.
