NEWARK, Del. – A thrilling end to Thursday’s CUSA Softball Championship action saw No. 2 WKU secure a 4-3 walk-off victory over No. 4 Delaware after Morgan Sharpe reached on an infield single and allowed Anna Mauck to plate the winning run.

Mauck led the inning off with a base knock and advanced on a sac bunt and fielders choice before Sharpe turned on the first pitch to initiate the game-clinching play.

Erica Houge (22-6) earned the win after she tossed three innings of no-hit relief. She struck out four batters with just one walk. Despite an efficient effort out of the bullpen, Claire Woods (6-7) suffered the loss after allowing the winning run on just two hits in 4.1 innings.

The Hilltoppers (38-13) jumped out to an early 3-1 lead in the third inning, when Lauren Satterly tripled in a run and later scored on a sac fly. The Fightin’ Blue Hens (31-24) answered in the ensuing half inning with a two-spot, including a Sorella Gallucci RBI single.

WKU will face another elimination game against No. 7 LA Tech at 2:30 p.m. ET Friday.
