GREENWOOD, Ind. – Liberty’s Ben Shugart earned Second Team Academic All-America honors as selected by the College Sports Communicators, the organization announced Tuesday.
 
This is Shugart's second time being named Academic All-American. He received third team honors in the 2023-24 season.
 
The redshirt senior finished his collegiate career First Team All-American after placing ninth in the javelin at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship. He was also the 2026 CUSA Men’s Javelin Champion.
