DALLAS – Delaware’s Cassandra Saldarini, WKU’s Abby Wiedermann and Mia Riddick earned Conference USA Women’s Soccer Player of the Week honors.
 
Offensive Player of the Week – Cassandra Saldarini, Delaware – Sr. – Morris Plains, N.J.
Saldarini claims her first Offensive Player of Week honors of the season after guiding the Blue Hens (3-0-3) to a 2-0 road victory over Bucknell on Thursday. The senior forward tallied both goals for UD and became the second player to do so this season. She broke the scoreless tie in the 75^th minute with her first collegiate goal on an excellent cross from teammate Ava Sallee. Two minutes later, Saldarini iced the game with her second goal of the night.
 
Defensive Player of the Week – Abby Wiedermann, WKU – Jr. – St. Louis, Mo.
Wiedermann earns Defensive Player of the Week recognition after anchoring a strong WKU (5-0-2) back line in a pair of shutout road victories. The junior defender played all 180 minutes as the Hilltoppers earned consecutive 1-0 wins over DePaul and UIC. She helped limit both opponents to fewer than 10 shots, including just two shots in WKU’s victory over UIC.
 
Goalkeeper of the Week – Mia Riddick, WKU – R-Sr. – Roswell, Ga.
Riddick becomes the first CUSA student-athlete this season to garner multiple weekly awards after yet another outstanding week in net for the Hilltoppers. The redshirt senior from Roswell, Ga., posted two more clean sheets this week on the road at DePaul and UIC. She played in all 180 minutes of action and recorded seven total saves. The performances extended WKU’s shutout streak to four, while the Hilltoppers have now secured clean sheets in six of their first seven contests.
