About CUSA SAAC
In 1998, the NCAA adopted proposal No. 98-99 which mandated that Division I conferences have a student-athlete advisory committee, thus Conference USA SAAC was formed. The Committee consists of 18 members (one male and one female from each institution) and one national SAAC representative. The Committee is managed by an executive board consisting of a Chair, Vice Chair and Secretary. The Committee meets five times a year, including one in-person meeting. The Committee provides insight on the student-athlete experience and offers input on the rules, regulations and polices that affect student-athletes' lives within Conference USA. The Committee functions to strengthen the communication between the campus and national committees. The Committee reviews all issues relating to the student-athlete experience and welfare. Through increased communication and networking, the SAAC hopes to better represent the views of all student-athletes.
