Melissa Marchini joined Conference USA in April 2019 as the Director of Compliance and Student Services. She currently is the conference liaison for the compliance administrators where she assists the membership in researching the application of NCAA legislation and providing interpretations and advice to member institutions. Other responsibilities include providing support to a variety of CUSA governance groups (e.g., committees, Conference’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee).
Prior to Conference USA, she served as an Academic and Membership Affairs postgraduate intern with the NCAA in 2018. With the NCAA, Marchini assisted membership in understanding legislation and provided legislative support through drafting and presenting supplements to various committees.
Prior to the NCAA, Marchini served as the first Network Athletic Director for the Noble Network of Charter Schools overseeing the athletic departments for 16 high schools from 2010-2015. During her time as Network Athletic Director of the Noble Network of Charter Schools, she also coordinated events, games and ensured compliance among all schools in the network.
A native of Chicago, Illinois, Marchini earned a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from DePauw University in 2010, where she was a cross-country student-athlete and a student athletic trainer. She went on to earn her master’s degree in sports administration from the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida in December 2016.
