Drew Mitchell is in his eighth year at Conference USA and serves on the senior leadership team as Chief Revenue Officer and Associate Commissioner. He is responsible for revenue generation while providing long-term strategic vision for maximizing exposure and revenue from the sponsorship rights program. He has produced record sponsorship growth in each year since joining the conference. Mitchell also serves as the sport administrator for baseball and men’s golf. Additional responsibilities include external affairs and strategic initiatives with the conference.
Prior to joining Conference USA in 2016, Mitchell spent six seasons with the Texas Legends of the NBA G-League. There he managed all sponsorship, ticket, premium seating and other revenue areas, in addition to managing the sales team. His team was annually awarded the League’s Top Team honor in both corporate sponsorships and ticket sales revenue. Mitchell also negotiated the naming rights deal for Hewlett Packard to name the Legends’ home court, HP COURT, marking the largest deal in the history of the NBA G-League and also brought one of the first jersey sponsorship deals to the NBA.
Additionally, Mitchell served as Director of Development for the Texas Legends Care Foundation. He also spent three years as the Regional Sales Director for Daktronics Sports Marketing and has served as the Corporate Chairperson for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Mitchell graduated from Baylor University in 2006 with bachelor’s degrees in Management as well as Sports Sponsorships and Sales. While in school, he completed internships with the Baylor Athletics Ticket/Marketing Department and Baylor ISP Sports.
Since graduation, he has served as a member of the Baylor University Sports Sponsorship & Sales
(S3) Board and was named the Baylor S3 Alumni of the Year in 2013.
Mitchell lives in McKinney, TX with his wife Christie (Baylor Alum ‘05) and their two kids, Tatum Alli (6th Grade) and Whitaker (2nd Grade), and they attend First Baptist Church McKinney. In his free time he enjoys coaching his kid’s sports teams, running, playing sports and being active outdoors with his family.
