Conference USA is proud to be partnered with five great bowl games. C-USA has been sending a team to the AutoZone Liberty Bowl since the league's inception in 1995. It has been a part of the GMAC Bowl in Mobile, Alabama since its debut in 1999. The league has been partnered with the Sheraton Hawai'i Bowl and Wyndham New Orleans Bowl since 2002 and has been a part of the Fort Worth Bowl since it began in 2003. These great games, the events that are held during bowl week and the cities they are played in make a perfect way to cap off your favorite team's football season.

AUTO ZONE LIBERTY BOWL NOTES
Conference USA's representative has won six of the last eight Liberty Bowl games....C-USA teams have an all-time record of 9-5 in the game....Last year's attendance of 58,355 for the Louisville-Boise State matchup marked the seventh consecutive year that attendance topped the 50,000 mark....The 2004 matchup between No. 7 Louisville and No. 10 Boise State was the only bowl game other than the National Championship game in the Orange Bowl that matched a pair of Top 10 teams against each other....This year marks the Liberty Bowl's second year of a five-year agreement with Memphis-based auto parts retailer AutoZone as a title sponsor....Jim Rout, former Mayor of Shelby County and current President of Jack Morris Auto Glass, has been elected the President of the 2005 AutoZone Liberty Bowl....This year marks the 47th anniversary of the AutoZone Liberty Bowl, making it college football's seventh-oldest bowl game....Over the years the Liberty Bowl has seen legendary coaches such as Paul "Bear" Bryant, Lou Holtz, Johnny Majors and Joe Paterno coach in the game, while outstanding players such as Ernie Davis, Doug Flutie, Bo Jackson, Archie Manning and Randy White have participated in the bowl.

GMAC BOWL NOTES
Some of the brightest offensive stars have displayed their talents in the first six years of the GMAC Bowl. Incredibly productive quarterbacks like Dave Ragone (Louisville), Stefan LeFors (Louisville) and David Garrard (East Carolina) have squared off against the likes of Ben Roethlisberger (Miami-Ohio) and Byron Leftwich (Marshall) in the game. Running backs like TCU's LaDainian Tomlinson and DeAngelo Williams of Memphis have raced down the field at Ladd-Peebles Stadium....Last year, Bowling Green and Memphis engaged in a shootout, with the Falcons downing the Tigers, 52-35....East Carolina and Marshall battled in the highest-scoring bowl game in NCAA history in the third annual GMAC Bowl in 2001. No. 25 Marshall rallied from a 38-8 halftime deficit to post a 64-61 win in double-overtime. The teams combined for 1,141 total yards...The 2000 game was decided with eight seconds remaining as Jeff Kelly threw a 28-yard TD pass to Kenneth Johnson to give Southern Miss a 28-21 win over TCU....In the inaugural game in 1999, Tomlinson ran for 124 yards and two touchdowns to lead TCU to a 28-14 win over East Carolina.

FORT WORTH BOWL NOTES Conference USA is in a multiple-year agreement to provide a team for the annual Fort Worth Bowl....Last season's game featured a matchup of current and future C-USA members as Cincinnati completed a successful first season under Mark Dantonio with a 32-14 win over Marshall in what proved to be the final game for Thundering Herd head coach Bob Pruett, who retired several weeks after the game....The inaugural game in 2003 featured a battle of Top 20 Teams when No. 19 TCU battled No. 16 Boise State. The Broncos won the game, 34-31, in one of the highest scoring games of the 2003-2004 bowl season.

This year's game is again scheduled for December 23 and will feature a C-USA team against an opponent from the Big 12 Conference.

SHERATON HAWAI'I BOWL NOTES
In its first three years, the Sheraton Hawai'i Bowl has gained a reputation for offensive shootouts....Each of the last two years it has been the highest scoring bowl game....Last year, UAB made the first bowl appearance in school history when the Blazers battled home-standing Hawai'i, falling 59-40....In 2003, Houston scored on an 81-yard TD reception in the final minute of regulation to send the game to overtime....Hawaii eventually prevailed, 54-48, in triple overtime....In 2002, Tulane represented Conference USA in the inaugural Hawai'i Bowl, upsetting the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors on their home field, 36-28. J.P. Losman ran for a pair of second half touchdowns, but it was the punt return skills of DB Lynaris Elpheage, who had a 60-yard return for a touchdown and a 56-yard return to set up another score that sparked the Green Wave offense.

WYNDHAM NEW ORLEANS BOWL NOTES
For the fifth year in a row, the Wyndham New Orleans Bowl will kick off the 2005-06 bowl season with a December 20th date for this year's game....Conference USA participated in the New Orleans Bowl for the third straight year last December....Southern Miss won the 2004 game, 31-10, over Sun Belt Conference Champion North Texas....In 2003, Memphis, armed with over 10,000 of its fans, made its first bowl appearance since 1971....The Tigers defeated North Texas, 27-17, to cap off their first nine-win season since 1963....In 2002, C-USA co-champion Cincinnati battled North Texas, dropping a 24-19 decision to the Mean Green....The New Orleans Bowl is played at the Louisiana Superdome, home of Tulane University and site of six Super Bowl games.
