DALLAS – Conference USA’s footprint on the NFL postseason will extend to Super Bowl LX, with three former CUSA stars appearing on the active rosters for the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks, who will square off for the Lombardi Trophy at 5:30 p.m. CT on Feb. 8 from Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif.
The Patriots’ roster features former LA Tech defensive lineman
Milton Williams, who is headed to his third Super Bowl in four seasons and is seeking a second-straight ring after he was a member of the Super Bowl LIX champion Philadelphia Eagles. Williams notched a pair of quarterback hits to aid the Patriots’ defense that persevered through a snowy, 10-7 victory over the Denver Broncos in the AFC Championship Game on Sunday afternoon.
Two members of the highly touted Seahawks defense hail from current or former CUSA institutions in linebacker
Tyrice Knight (UTEP) and cornerback
Riq Woolen (UTSA). Knight, a 2023 First Team All-CUSA nod, is in his second season with Seattle, while Woolen has featured as a starter for the past four seasons. In a 31-27 triumph over the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Championship Game, Knight logged four tackles, while Woolen tallied a pair of pass deflections.
In each of the past 25 Super Bowls, Conference USA has had a former player on the winning team and is guaranteed to extend that streak in 2026.
Additionally, former MTSU linebacker
Darius Harris is listed on the practice squad of the New England Patriots.
