Dunlap Promoted to Chief Operating Officer

IRVING, Texas – Conference USA Senior Associate Commissioner Keisha Dunlap has been named the league’s Chief Operating Officer. A member of C-USA since 2004, Dunlap assumes general oversight of conference operations.

“I am excited to expand my role at Conference USA,” Dunlap said. “In my 13th year with the organization, I appreciate the opportunity to continue to serve our member institutions and want to thank Judy for entrusting me with this responsibility.”
 
The Champaign, Illinois, native was also recently appointed to the NCAA Division I Competition Oversight Committee. Her term began July 1, 2017, and runs through June 30, 2021.  Dunlap is finishing a four-year assignment on the NCAA Division I Softball Committee, serving as Chair in her final year.
 
“Keisha will be an outstanding asset to the COC as her NCAA committee body of work can attest,” C-USA Commissioner Judy MacLeod said. “We are proud of what she has accomplished at the conference and national levels within the collegiate athletics landscape and know she will do a fantastic job as our new COO.”
 
The Competition Oversight Committee is comprised of 19 members, including 10 Division I Council members, eight non-Council members, and one SAAC representative. Kim Record, Athletics Director at UNC Greensboro, is the Chair.

About the NCAA Division I Competition Oversight Committee
The Competition Oversight Committee has oversight responsibility of regular season and championships administration in sports other than football and men's and women's basketball, including supervision of qualification and/or selection procedures for Division I and National Collegiate Championships. The committee will prioritize enhancement of the student-athlete educational experience (academically and athletically) and, in doing so, promote student-athletes' personal growth and leadership development.
 
The Competition Oversight Committee also reviews recommendations from sports committees and process other issues related to the administration of those championships. The sports committees (other than football and men's and women's basketball) will report directly to the Competition Oversight Committee.
