IRVING, Texas – WKU guard Darius Thompson delivered a triple-double with 33-10-10 in 36 minutes at Marshall on Saturday night. The graduate transfer claimed his first C-USA Player of the Week nod with the outstanding effort. UTSA guard Jhivvan Jackson swiped his third-consecutive freshman of the week honor and fourth on the season. The Puerto Rico native averaged nearly 26 points in contests against Louisiana Tech and Southern Miss. Awards are chosen by a vote from a media panel representing the 14 member schools.
Player of the Week
Darius Thompson, WKU

Thompson recorded the second triple-double in program history Saturday night with 33 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists in 36 minutes in WKU’s 112-87 rout at Marshall. All three categories were career highs for the graduate transfer. Thompson is just the second player in the nation this season and only the fifth since 2010 with a game of at least 30 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. He shot 11-of-16 from the field and netted 6-of-9 3-pointers, which were also career highs, while also making 5-of-6 free throws. His efforts helped WKU record its most points (112) and assists (28) ever in a road game. It is the first C-USA weekly award of his career.
Freshman of the Week
Jhivvan Jackson, UTSA
Freshman, 6-0, 160, G, Bayamón, Puerto Rico
Jackson averaged 25.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists in leading UTSA to a 1-1 week in C-USA play. The frosh started the week with 21 points on nine field goals and a trio of free throws in UTSA’s two-point win at LA Tech. His encore was a game-high 30-point showing in 30 minutes off the bench at Southern Miss. Jackson has tallied two 30-plus point, seven 20-plus point and 14 double-digit scoring performances in 17 career games this season. It is the third-straight weekly award and fourth of the season for Jackson. With three more from teammate Keaton Wallace, UTSA has claimed seven freshman awards this season.
