XC: Sept. 25 Athletes of the Week

IRVING, Texas – North Texas’ Florian Lussy was named the Conference USA Athlete of the Week for the second consecutive week after a team-leading performance at the Chile Pepper Festival. Teammate Rea Iseli was tabbed Female Athlete of the Week following her top-10 finish at the Chile Pepper Festival. All C-USA weekly awards are presented by Top of the World Headwear.

C-USA Male Athlete of the Week – Florian Lussy, North Texas, Jr., Oberdorf, Switzerland
Lussy clocked in at 25:07.2 in the 8k at the 30th annual Chile Pepper Festival hosted by then 14th-ranked Arkansas. He was the first to cross the finish line for the Mean Green, taking 23rd place. His performance paced North Texas to a fourth place team finish out of 49 teams.
 
C-USA Female Athlete of the Week – Rea Iseli, North Texas, Sr., Tauffelen, Switzerland
Iseli took ninth place in the 5k at the Chile Pepper Festival hosted by then ninth-ranked Arkansas. The senior finished in a time of 17:31.8 to lead the North Texas women and 415 other collegiate runners. Her top-10 finish led the Mean Green to a ninth place finish out of 51 teams.
