DALLAS – Florida Atlantic graduate guard Iggy Allen was tabbed Conference USA Player of the Week on Monday for her offensive outburst at WKU over the weekend. She averaged 27 points in the series, including 35 on Friday, to help the Owls secure their first-ever win in Bowling Green. Freshman of the Week went to Old Dominion’s Lanay Wheaton as she inked season-best points, rebounds and minutes in the Monarchs’ split series at Marshall. Awards are voted on by the league's women's basketball communications directors. All C-USA weekly awards are presented by Surf & Turf Golf.

Allen helped Florida Atlantic (4-8, 2-6 C-USA East) make history over the weekend as the Owls split the series at WKU (6-10, 5-5 C-USA East), giving the program its first win in E.A. Diddle Arena and breaking a 12-game losing streak to the Lady Toppers. She averaged 27 points on 60 percent shooting from the floor, 8.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 2.5 steals and 1.5 blocks in the two contests. In the series lid-lifter, Allen notched a career-high 35 points along with 13 rebounds to claim her third-consecutive double-double. Her 14 field goals that night tied the most hit by a C-USA player this season, her 35 points were fourth-most by an Owl in a single game, and her three blocks also marked a career-best. Her second double-figure game on Saturday saw her log 19 points as the Owls celebrated their first road victory of the season.

Wheaton registered season-high minutes and stepped up off the bench in Old Dominion’s (6-6, 3-5 C-USA East) split series at Marshall (5-7, 4-6 C-USA East). In a 10-point win on Friday, the newcomer reached a season-best 11 points on 4-of-6 field goal shots and 3-of-3 makes from the free throw line in her 17 minutes of action. The Monarchs then fell in overtime on Saturday as Wheaton contributed a season-high five rebounds to pair with seven points in another 22 reserve minutes.
