DALLAS – Charlotte’s Maya Singletary broke records in the 600m and was named Female Track Athlete of the Week. North Texas’ KeAyla Dove broke her own school record in shot put to earn field honors. UTEP’s Yusuf Mohamud leads the league in the 800m and was named Male Athlete of the Week. Rice’s pole vaulter, Alex Slinkman claims field honors as he currently ranks No. 10 in the world. All C-USA weekly awards are presented by Blenders Eyewear.

C-USA Female Track Athlete of the Week- Maya Singletary, Charlotte, R-Sr., Raeford, N.C.
Singletary set the Charlotte women's indoor record in the 600m with a time of 1:28.62. She finished in first place in the event at the Hokie Invitational over runners from Duke, Georgetown, Maryland, NC State, Penn State, and Virginia Tech. Singletary's time in the 600m is also the 5th ranked 600m time in the country.
 
C-USA Female Field Athlete of the Week- KeAyla Dove, North Texas, So., Houston, Texas
Dove broke her own school record to win the women's shot put title at the Red Raider Open in Lubbock, Texas. The sophomore from Houston, Texas, launched a career and school record shot put on her second throw, recording a mark of 56-1.25 (17.10m) that earned her a spot in the finals and won the event title. Dove now stands No. 8 nationally.
 
C-USA Male Track Athlete of the Week- Yusuf Mohamud, UTEP, Sr., Amarillo, Texas
Mohamud clocked in a personal-best 1:51.16 an altitude conversion of 1:50.54, placing second in the men’s 800-meter race at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Invitational on Saturday. Mohamud made a great improvement on his performance, as his previous best was 1:57.99. The mark ranks his time at No. 1 in Conference USA.
 
C-USA Male Field Athlete of the Week- Alex Slinkman, Rice, Jr., Mechanicsville, Va.
Slinkman had a historic night at the Robert Platt Invitational placing first, clearing 18-01 in the season opener for Rice. The mark places him at No. 10 in the world, No. 9 in the NCAA and third all-time at Rice.
