After collecting their fourth men’s title and fifth women’s conference title in 2023, Middle Tennessee was selected as the preseason favorites. The Blue Raiders had an impressive performance at the Arturo Barrios Invitational. After achieving 13 personal bests, both men and women finished in the top-15 out of more than 40 schools competing. Brian Kiptoo led the team in the first two races this season, while Allan Kiplagat has led the team in the last two races.

The MTSU men have captured top-15 finishes in all four meets prior to the upcoming championship and they are currently ranked eighth in the USTFCCCA South Region poll. Odilia Jepchumba has led the Blue Raider women in every race this season leading up to the championship and accumulated four weekly honors: three CUSA Freshman of the Week awards and one CUSA Athlete of the Week award.

Liberty landed in the runner-up position for both men and women on the preseason poll. Nicholas Kiprotich has been the Flames’ consistent top finisher, earning seventh place overall at 2023 CUSA Cross Country Championships and three CUSA Athlete of the Week honors this year.

Allie Zealand has paved the way for Lady Flames this season, obtaining five conference weekly honors: three CUSA Freshman of the Week awards and two CUSA Athlete of the Week awards. Both men and women’s teams at Liberty are currently ranked in the top-10 in the USTFCCCA Southeast Region poll. The women are ranked fifth, while the men are ranked ninth.
