GOLF: September 18 Golfers of the Week

DALLAS – WKU’s Catie Craig and Kennesaw State’s Claes Borregaard earned the second Conference USA golf weekly honors for the 2024-25 campaign.

CUSA Women’s Golfer of the Week – Catie Craig - Sr. – Sautee Nacoochee, Ga.
Craig claimed her fifth career victory at the 2024 Cardinal Cup with a 3-under 213. Craig helped the Lady Toppers to a runner-up finish in the deep, 15-team field, besting the hosts Louisville and other power four opponents. She fired a 2-under 70 on Friday, 1-over 73 on Saturday and 2-under 70 on Sunday to claim the victory. Craig had six birdies on Sunday and finished with a tournament-best 13 among the 84-player field. The Sautee Nacoochee, Georgia, native is now one win shy of Mary Joiner's program record of six career wins.
 
CUSA Men’s Golfer of the Week –Claes Borregaard - Sr. – Smorum, Denmark
Borregaard finished the J.T. Poston Invitational, tied for third place with rounds of 72-62-71 for a 5-under par total of 205. His round of 62 set a school record on a par-70 course.  Borregaard’s 8-under par total tied for the lowest under-par score in any round in program history. The Smorum, Denmark, native’s 36-hole total score of 6-under par 134 also established a new school record on a par-70 course. His 54-hole total of 5-under 205 ranks second in program history on a par-70 course. Borregaard led the Owls to a second-place team finish.
