DALLAS – Conference USA announced Friday the 2025 CUSA Women’s Soccer Superlative Awards along with the league’s all-conference and all-freshman teams. Liberty forward
Ivy Garner headlines the teams as the league’s Player of the Year and Offensive Player of the Year, as the Flames boasted the second most honorees with seven behind Delaware’s eight on the all-conference teams.
The senior forward, who was also named Preseason Offensive Player of the Year, paced the conference in goals (10), shots on goal (36), assists (6) and points (26) in 2025. She recorded the most assists (4) and points (12) during league action. Garner tallied at least two points in the final four regular season contests. The Hillsborough, N.C., native helped lead the Flames to six straight wins and a share of the regular season title after tying the first two contests of CUSA play.
The remaining CUSA Superlative Awards were given to Liberty’s
Lauren Littleton (Defensive Player of the Year) and
Peyton Huber (Goalkeeper of the Year), along with WKU’s
Georgia Liapis (Midfielder of the Year),
Makenna Egan (Freshman of the Year) and
Jason Neidell (Coach of the Year).
Littleton, a junior centerback, was crowned Defensive Player of the Year after anchoring a Liberty defense that allowed the second fewest total goals (16) and the fewest goals in CUSA play (3). The Friendswood, Texas, native led the Flames with over 1,400 minutes as she played the full 90 minutes on 12 occasions throughout the season. On top of her superb play on defense, Littleton scored her first career goal against Delaware and her second career goal for the game-winner against Sam Houston to conclude the regular season.
Liapis, the reigning CUSA Offensive Player of the Week, earns Midfielder of the Year honors after leading the team in goals (9), shots (41), points (20), and shots on goal (20). She is third in points in CUSA, tied for second in goals, and is the only midfielder in the top five in scoring. She was named to the Top Drawer Soccer National Team of the Week on Oct. 15 following her hat trick against Missouri State. She scored the game-winning goal in WKU’s 2-0 win over NM State on Oct. 19 and in WKU’s 1-0 win over Jax State on Oct. 26. Liapis has scored at least one goal in six matches this season. Her nine goals are tied for seventh-most in a single season in WKU history and the most since 2008.
Huber, a redshirt sophomore from Knoxville, Tenn., started all eight CUSA games for the Flames in net. She led all goalkeepers with three goals allowed and a 0.40 goals-against average in league play. Huber qualified for top-10 nationally with a 0.47 overall goals-against average, allowing four total goals in 765 minutes. The Flames keeper tallied 16 saves on 55 shots faced this season with a .800 save percentage.
Egan, a true freshman forward, made an immediate impact for the second highest scoring team in CUSA (1.81 goals per game). Egan is second on the team in goals scored (five), second in shots (28), first in assists (four), and third in minutes (1,199), first among freshmen. She is tied for first among CUSA freshmen in goals scored (5) and third in CUSA in league play goals (3). Egan scored the game-winning goal in two matches, including a 1-0 win over LA Tech, and assisted in the game-winning goal in a 1-0 win over Sam Houston. She leads CUSA in fouls suffered by an opponent and leads the conference in touches in opponents’ penalty areas.
Neidell has led WKU to its best conference record in program history at a 6-0-2 mark in league play, turning around a team that went 3-8-5 in 2024 and won only one CUSA match. Neidell’s Hilltoppers boast the second highest scoring average in CUSA (1.813) and the best scoring defense in CUSA (0.813). WKU is the only CUSA team to go 4-0 on the road in league play as three of the four wins were shutout wins. WKU’s 4-0 record in CUSA road matches is their best since joining the league in 2014 and marked the first undefeated conference road record since 2009 and their first undefeated CUSA record since 2020-21. Their nine total wins (9-4-3) mark the most since 2021.
Garner, Littleton, Liapis and Huber were all part of the First Team All-Conference USA squad. Joining them were forwards
Emma Pettersen (MTSU) and
Julia Kristensen (Missouri State), midfielders
Lilli Lubic (Delaware),
Chinatsu Kaio (FIU) and
