VB: AVCA Announces Six CUSA Players to All-Region Teams

DALLAS – Conference USA has six student-athletes, representing three schools, on the 2025 American Volleyball Coaches Association All-Region List, the organization announced Tuesday. 
 
In the South Region, WKU was represented by Callie Bauer, Kaira Knox and Alivia Skidmore. UTEP’s Torrance Lovesee and Sara Pustahija were named to the All-Southwest Region list. Kennesaw State’s Manu Johnsen rounds out the CUSA athletes being selected to the All-Southeast Region list.
 
WKU’s redshirt-senior setter Bauer earned South Region First-Team honors for the second consecutive year. Bauer took home the 2025 Alyssa Cavanaugh Player of the Year award, Setter of the Year and CUSA Tournament MVP. She finished the regular season ranked 22nd nationally and first in the conference in assists per set at 10.42. She recorded a total of 1,073 assists, which ranked 48th nationally and second in CUSA. Bauer also helped the Hilltoppers to the third-best hitting percentage in the country (.312), fifth-best assists per set (13.63), and sixth-best kills per set rate (14.57) in the country. 
 
The CUSA Freshman of the Year, Knox earned Honorable Mention in the South Region. Knox finished the season with a .327 hitting percentage, posting the highest hitting percentage of any Hilltopper this season, logging a .737 against Middle Tennessee on Oct. 31. She finished the season with 293 kills, 132 digs, 55 blocks, 13 assists and 12 services aces. 
 
Skidmore earned her first AVCA All-Region recognition, earning Honorable Mention. The sophomore outside hitter was named a CUSA First-Team All-Conference member after being responsible for almost 25% of the Tops’ total kills. Skidmore finished with 369 kills and a .294 hitting percentage. She was also the highest points scorer for WKU, finishing the season with 404.5. 
 
Johnsen takes home her first AVCA All-Region honor after leading the Owls to a 19-9 overall record, which led to a third-place finish in CUSA play at 12-4. She ranked first in the league in points per game with 4.71 and second in kills per game with 4.08. She finished the 2025 campaign with 424 kills on a .283 hitting clip, 271 digs, 44 service aces, 38 blocks and 20 assists.
 
After receiving First-Team All-Conference recognition, Lovesee earned her first AVCA All-Region honor. Lovesee was a crucial part of the Miners offense, tallying 324 kills with a 2.63 hitting percentage, along with 191 digs, 61 blocks and 24 service aces. She posted a career-high 22 kills on an impressive .457 hitting clip on Nov. 7 against Kennesaw State.
 
Pustahija was named Southwest Region Honorable Mention, her first AVCA All-Region honor. The First-Team All-Conference honoree had the best offensive season of her career, recording 264 kills with a .279 hitting percentage, while averaging 2.61 kills per set. Defensively, she recorded a total of 184 digs and 55 blocks.
