DALLAS – Florida Atlantic’s Denisse Morgenstern and Shantel Starling and Tulane’s Emma Morris and Katie Hansen were named the Conference USA Beach Volleyball Co-Pair of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.

Morgenstern and Starling had a phenomenal week for the Sandy Owls, going unbeaten, 4-0, at the Alki Beach Invitational over the weekend. The duo earned three straight-set sweeps and one three-set win at the 1s, defeating Oregon, No. 19 Washington, Portland, and RV Boise State. On Friday, Morgenstern and Starling opened the weekend with a straight-set victory over Oregon at the 1s, 21-19, 21-14. The pair then followed that up with their best win of the weekend, earning a dominant 21-13, 21-14 sweep over No. 19 Washington's top pair. Morgenstern and Shantel opened Saturday's play with their third straight-set sweep of the weekend, defeating Portland's court one pair 21-19, 21-16. The duo then closed out the perfect weekend with a three-set win on court one against Boise State, 21-17, 21-23, 15-13.

Morris and Hansen completed a perfect 5-0 weekend at home in the NOLA Classic without dropping a single set. At the No. 2 flight across each match, the duo opened the weekend with a 21-17, 21-19 sweep of No. 20 Arizona. They then swept through ULM (21-15, 21-15) and UNO (21-19, 21-8) before a conference sweep of FIU (21-11, 21-15). Against Southern Miss, they outlasted the Golden Eagles for a 24-22 set one win before tallying a 21-19 victory in set two. The pair now owns nine-straight wins, including eight in a row at the second flight. This is their longest win streak of the season and just one shy of the longest by a Tulane pair this season.
