EL PASO, Texas -

El Paso Times -- Kelsey Moore, a UTEP volleyball player who made a foray into the pageant world this year, is the new Miss Texas USA. Moore won the crown Sunday in Houston.

She is 19 and stands 6 feet 2 inches tall. A middle blocker on UTEP's volleyball team, Moore is from Chandler, Ariz. She captured the title of Miss El Paso USA in June, qualifying her for the state pageant.

First runner-up in the Miss Texas USA Pageant was Ana Rodriguez of Central Texas. Angy Torres of Houston was second runner-up.
