Now is your chance to own a piece of history. The actual game-worn helmets that the Mean Green football team wore in the Heart of Dallas Bowl victory on New Year's Day are available for purchase through the North Texas ticket office.

The helmets, which feature a carbon-fiber black wrap and a metallic green eagle logo, is an original design specifically made for the Heart of Dallas Bowl and will never be worn again.

To purchase on of the bowl helmets, contact the North Texas Athletics Ticket Office at 940-565-2527 or 800-868-2366. Cost of the helmets is $400, and helmets of specific players are only available for those which have not already been purchased. North Texas won the Heart of Dallas Bowl, 36-14, over UNLV. The Mean Green will begin the 2014 season in Austin, Texas, against the Longhorns on Aug. 30. Tickets for the 2014 season can be purchased online at http://www.meangreensports.com/tickets.
