IRVING, Texas – To promote the 2017-18 Conference USA basketball season, C-USA will announce two student-athletes named to the league’s annual preseason teams in a series of releases beginning Monday, Oct. 16. Stay tuned each day as the conference will present one male and one female student-athlete leading up to the squads’ full unveiling on Thursday, Oct. 26, which will include the final two men’s team members and the women’s C-USA Preseason Player of the Year. The league’s annual preseason polls for both men and women will be released on Friday, Oct. 27 with the 2017 C-USA Basketball Tipoff Event & Reception presented on ESPN3 coming Monday, Oct. 30 at Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas.

Daquan Bracey, Louisiana Tech, So., Baltimore, MD
Bracey saw action in all 33 games of Louisiana Tech’s 2016-17 season, starting at point guard in 27 of those games. He averaged 9.1 points per game, scoring in double figures 13 times, and averaging a team-best 5.8 assists per game, ranking 18
th in the country. The 2017 C-USA Freshman of the Year recorded a +3.51 assist/turnover ratio, best in Bulldog history and fifth best in the nation.
Rachael Childress, UAB, So., Moulton, AL
Childress holds the C-USA freshman record for 3-pointers made in a single season (95) and garnered the 2017 C-USA Freshman of the Year award honor. She ranks second in C-USA’s individual season 3-point field goals per game (3.2) and set a conference record in C-USA play for 3-point field goals made (64).
