IRVING, Texas – To promote the 2017-18 Conference USA basketball season, C-USA will announce two student-athletes named to the league’s annual preseason teams in a series of releases beginning Monday, Oct. 16. Stay tuned each day as the conference will present one male and one female student-athlete leading up to the squads’ full unveiling on Thursday, Oct. 26, which will include the final two men’s team members and the women’s C-USA Preseason Player of the Year. The league’s annual preseason polls for both men and women will be released on Friday, Oct. 27, with the 2017 C-USA Basketball Tipoff Event & Reception presented on ESPN3 coming Monday, Oct. 30,  at Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas.

Ahmad Caver, Old Dominion, Jr., Atlanta, Ga.
Caver led the Monarchs in assists with 150 for a 4.9 per game average, steals with 41 for the season for a 1.3 per game average, and scoring with 13 points per game. He ranked third in C-USA with a +2.32 assist to turnover ratio and 35.3 minutes of play per game. Caver started all 31 of Old Dominion’s games and averaged 3.5 rebounds per contest.
 
Shayna Gore, Marshall, Jr., Logan, W.Va.
Gore started all 30 games for the Thundering Herd and scored in double figures in every game except two. She scored 526 total points and averaged 17.1 points per game, while also leading the team in scoring 19 times. Gore made 70 3-pointers, the second-highest in Marshall history and led the team with 52 steals and 86 assists.
