IRVING, Texas – UTSA’s Sean Meehan and Rice’s Mitchell Meissner both claimed individual and team crowns this week to share the Conference USA Men’s Co-Golfer of the Week nod. Katerina Vlasinova of Old Dominion notched the best finish of any Monarch this year to earn Women’s Golfer of the Week.

C-USA Men’s Co-Golfer of the Week – Sean Meehan, UTSA, Jr., San Antonio, Texas
Meehan crafted the best tournament of his career and UTSA’s third-lowest 54-hole total of all time with an 11-under 205 to claim the 89-golfer Wyoming Cowboy Classic. The San Antonio native fired off rounds of 70, 67 and 68 to assist the Roadrunners in capturing the team crown in front of 14 squads with a 22-under 842. The team’s scorecard matched the program’s second-best clip through 54 holes. Meehan birdied his final hole of the event to finish one shot ahead of the runner-up, and lift UTSA four shots ahead of second-place Sam Houston State.
 
C-USA Men’s Co-Golfer of the Week – Mitchell Meissner, Rice, Sr., Houston, Texas
Meissner topped 79 competitors at the Ryman Hospitality Intercollegiate to become just the second Rice golfer since 1985 to own multiple career victories. He set a season-low 54-hole total of 5-under 208 to help Rice win the tournament, marking the first team and individual titles won at a single event since 2010. The veteran opened his week with a season-best 67, followed by a 69 on day two. The pair of rounds tied his career-low and tied the school’s third-lowest since 1990. He polished his scorecard with a 72 in round three.

C-USA Women’s Golfer of the Week – Katerina Vlasinova, Old Dominion, Sr., Trebich, Czech Republic
Vlasinova compiled the best finish of any Monarch this season when she placed in a tie for second out of 78 competitors at the Brickyard Collegiate in Macon, Georgia. Her 1-under 215 helped Old Dominion earn second place and finish higher than three programs ranked above the Monarchs in the national standings. The senior notched three rounds of 74, 72 and 69, which became the best final round of any player in the event. The finish meant her third top-five placement this season.
