C-USA Welcomes Two New Staff Members

IRVING, Texas – Conference USA Commissioner Judy MacLeod announced today the hiring of two full-time staff members.

Scott Hays takes over as Director of Compliance & Academics. Hays joined C-USA in August of 2017 as the sports administration assistant, where he oversaw the operations for the 2018 C-USA Basketball Championships. Within his new role, his primary duties include day-to-day academic and compliance responsibilities, managing the league’s NLI program, overseeing waiver processing and management of the academic awards program. Additionally, he will continue to oversee operations for future basketball championships. Prior stops for Hays include the North Texas athletics compliance department, the NCAA Postgraduate Internship program and the Texas A&M University School of Law in Fort Worth, Texas.

“I could not be more excited to continue my career at Conference USA,“ Hays said. “I joined C-USA because I wanted to be a part of something special, and I know the conference is making strides in a number of areas that set us apart from the rest. I hope to provide value in ways that will allow the conference, the member institutions, and the student-athletes to continue its positive growth.”

Sarah Braslow was named Assistant Director of Multimedia and will oversee the creation and implementation of the league’s social media strategy. Braslow arrives at C-USA following a successful stint with the Northern Texas PGA, where she was the Coordinator of Communications & Marketing. Prior to her professional career, the Memphis native graduated from the University of Alabama with a B.A. in communication (public relations) in 2015 before acquiring her M.S. in athletic administration and sport management in 2016 from Indiana University. While at IU, Braslow worked for the athletic department as a graduate intern for both the media relations and marketing departments. She also served as the fan engagement coordinator for the Indiana men's basketball social media accounts.

“I am very excited to join the C-USA multimedia team and begin my career here at the conference,” said Braslow. “Conference USA understands the importance of social media and the value it possesses, and I cannot wait to contribute to its success.”
