DALLAS – WKU redshirt junior guard Luke Frampton netted the fourth Conference USA Player of the Week award for the Hilltoppers after a 22-point outburst in 23 minutes against Tennessee Tech. Back-to-back Freshman of the Week Kenneth Lofton, Jr. pulled down a career-tying 12 rebounds in Louisiana Tech’s first road win of the year at ULM. C-USA weekly awards are voted on by the league's men's basketball communications directors.

Frampton made his first start in a Hilltopper uniform last Tuesday when (RV) WKU (7-2) hosted Tennessee Tech in its final nonconference contest. In the team’s 88-68 victory, Frampton went 6-for-9 from beyond the arc and hit all four shots from the free throw line. The guard contributed to a run in the second half with three 3-pointers hit in a span of two and a half minutes to send the Toppers up by 20 with under five minutes to play. It marked the first time since Nov. 25, 2019 a Hilltopper sunk six long-range shots. He also grabbed five rebounds and dished out a couple of assists.
 
FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
KENNETH LOFTON, JR., LOUISIANA TECH
FRESHMAN, F, 6-7, 275, PORT ARTHUR, TEXAS
Lofton, Jr.’s defense helped Louisiana Tech (7-2) close out nonconference play on a three-game win streak capped by a 68-57 win at ULM last Tuesday. The Port Arthur product and three-time Freshman of the Week tied his career-high rebounding mark with 12, including nine defensive boards. He paced Louisiana Tech in steals for the third-straight game with two on the night. Down by eight at the 14:43 mark, Lofton, Jr., and the Bulldogs limited ULM to just 13 points the rest of the contest and held the Warhawks to their lowest scoring output this season. On the offensive side of the ball, the newcomer added seven points and a pair of assists.
