BASE: FAU’s Schanuel Lands Perfect Game Preseason All-America Honors

DALLAS – Florida Atlantic junior first baseman Nolan Schanuel earned his second preseason All-American honor on Thursday as announced by Perfect Game.
 
Schanuel, a First Team All-C-USA and Southeast All-Region Second Team honoree in 2022, was named a First Team Preseason All-American by Perfect Game after finishing the season with a team-best .369 batting average.
 
The junior first baseman is coming off a 2022 season where he belted 16 home runs and drove in 56 RBI. He also landed himself fourth in C-USA in on-base percentage (.477), fifth in batting average (.369) and sixth in slugging percentage (.658).
 
His other awards during the year included being named to the mid-season watch list for the Golden Spikes award and the Bobby Bragan Collegiate Slugger award. Schanuel was recently named as a Third Team Collegiate Baseball Preseason All-American for 2023.
