BSB: Three CUSA Teams Selected to 2026 NCAA Tournament Field

DALLAS – Conference USA has received three bids to the 2026 NCAA Baseball Championship, as announced by the Division I baseball committee on Monday. This marks 16th time CUSA has placed three or more teams in a regional and the first time since 2021 when there were four. The top three squads in the final regular season standings all earned bids. Jax State was the regular season and conference tournament champion, while Liberty and Missouri State secured at-large bids.
 
Fresh off their first CUSA tournament championship, Jax State (46-13, 23-7 CUSA) will travel to Hattiesburg and open its postseason trip against No. 2 Virginia (36-21, 14-16 ACC) on Friday at 6 p.m. CT. No. 3-seeded Liberty (41-19, 21-9 CUSA) will face off with No. 2-seeded Boston College (36-21, 17-13 ACC) in the Athens Regional and is set for a 1 p.m. CT first pitch. No. 3-seeded Missouri State (34-19, 20-10 CUSA) will make the trek over to Kansas to take on No. 2 Arkansas (39-20, 17-13 SEC) in the Lawrence Regional.
 
The Gamecocks, led by CUSA Coach of the Year Steve Bieser, won its first CUSA championship title after appearing in the title game in back-to-back seasons. For the first time since 2019, Jax State will appear in a NCAA Regional. Jax State boasts one of the deepest pitching staffs in the nation with names like Steven Cash, Beau Bryans, Jud Files and Skyler Hutto. Jaxon Pate was the CUSA Freshman of the Year after leading his team with a .351 average in the leadoff spot.
 
Flame skipper Bradley LeCroy has his squad heading to a regional in just his second year at the helm. Liberty will make the trip back down to the Peach State after last playing in a regional in Athens in 2022. CUSA Player of the Year Tanner Marsh led his team during league play with a .362 average. Ben Blair was the CUSA Pitcher of the Year and will look to set the tone on the mound for the Flames next week.
 
Missouri State head coach Joey Hawkins guided his team to its 13th NCAA Regional appearance and first since 2022 after earning an at-large bid. CUSA All-Tournament Team member Logan Fyffe leads the league with a .371 average, while belting nine long balls and 21 doubles in 51 games this season. Bryce Cermenelli has been a strong leadoff man for the Bears this season, hitting .348 with 64 hits and only 11 strikeouts in 184 at-bats.

Each of the 16 regionals features four teams, playing a double-elimination format. The regionals are scheduled to be conducted from Friday, May 29, to Monday, June 1 (if necessary).

A CUSA team has advanced to a Super Regional in 12 of the last 25 years and reached the College World Series six times since 2005.

The Men's College World Series begins play Friday, June 12, at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha, Neb.
