DALLAS –Jacksonville State, amidst collecting its first two tournament titles as a new bowling program, saw
Isabel Allen earn two All-Tournament Team honors and Tournament MVP in November. She received Conference USA Bowler and Newcomer of the Month awards, as announced by the league Wednesday, highlighting her outstanding performances. The monthly honors are presented by
Blenders Eyewear.
CUSA Bowler and Newcomer of the Month – Isabel Allen, Jax State, Sr., Tamworth, England
Allen began the month at the Ladyjack Classic, averaging 213.4 pins per game. Just two tournaments into Jax State’s inaugural season, Allen contributed to the team’s first title while also picking up All-Tournament team honors, ranking No. 6 individually. The Gamecocks then picked up their second straight title at the Hawk Classic. Allen’s performance resulted in another All-Tournament Team recognition and the Tournament MVP award after totaling 1,275 pins in the traditional portion of the weekend. The senior had a combined Baker frame average of 22.18 and a 22.20 traditional average throughout November. She also had a strike percentage of 58.1%, fill percentage of 94% and 100% in single pin spares. To add to the historical weekend for Jax State, Allen was apart of the Baker lineup that rolled the first perfect game in program history in the first round of the Hawk Classic. Overall, she led the Gamecocks to a combined 25-1 record in the month of November, including a 6-0 head-to-head record against conference opponents.
With the conclusion of fall competition, Conference USA bowling returns to action on Jan. 8 at the Stormin’ Blue & White Vegas Classic with five out of its nine teams competing: Jax State, SFA, Tulane, Vanderbilt and Valparaiso.
