WGOLF: North Texas, Three Individuals Head to NCAA Regionals

INDIANAPOLIS - Conference USA women's golf champion North Texas earned the sixth seed in the Raleigh Regional, while three C-USA individual student-athletes have qualified to compete in the 2023 NCAA Division I Women's Golf Regionals, as announced by the Division I Women's Golf Committee on Wednesday. 

The Mean Green won its third consecutive conference crown in Palm Beach Gardens at PGA National back on April 15 to earn the league's automatic bid, and garner the program's best-ever seeding, the sixth seed, at the Lonnie Poole Golf Course on the campus of NC State in Raleigh, North Carolina.

C-USA individual champion Catie Craig from WKU is headed to the Athens Regional, while UTSA's Camryn Carreon will play in the San Antonio Region and FIU's Karissa Kilby will represent the Panthers in the Palm Beach Gardens Regional.

Regional play will take place May 8-10 at six regional sites, with a total of 396 student-athletes competing. All six regional sites will have 12 teams and six individuals. The top five teams (30 teams total) and the low individual not on an advancing team (six individuals total) from each regional site, 156 student-athletes total, will advance to play in the national championships to be played May 19-24 at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona. Championship play will be hosted by Arizona State and The Thunderbirds, with the final three days of the championships televised live by the GOLF Channel.

Raleigh Regional Site
The Raleigh Regional will be played at the Lonnie Poole Golf Course in Raleigh, North Carolina, and will be hosted by NC State.
C-USA Team: North Texas

Athens Regional Site
The Athens Regional will be played at the University of Georgia Golf Course in Athens, Georgia with Georgia serving as the host institution.
C-USA Individual: Catie Craig, WKU

San Antonio Regional Site
The San Antonio Regional will be played at the TPC San Antonio in San Antonio, Texas with UTSA and San Antonio Sports serving as the co-hosts.
C-USA Individual: Camryn Carreon, UTSA

Palm Beach Gardens Regional Site
The Palm Beach Gardens Regional will be played at the PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida with Florida Atlantic and the Palm Beach County Sports Commission serving as co-hosts.
