DALLAS – Florida Atlantic, the Conference USA champion, and FIU will represent C-USA in the 2023 NCAA Division I Beach Volleyball Championship, announced today by the NCAA.
The Sandy Owls (19-13) received the No. 12 seed and will face No. 5 LSU (26-12) in a first-round game on May 5 at Noon CT. No. 13 seed FIU (20-16), the C-USA Championship runner-up, takes on No. 4 Florida State (30-8) at 11 a.m. in first round action. The winners of each of these matches will meet in second round action on May 6 at 10 a.m. CT.
The opening round of the championship will be held Wednesday, May 3 with the 16 and 17 seeds vying for a matchup with the top seed. The remaining 16 seeds will face off in a single elimination bracket May 5-7. The first round will take place on May 5, the quarterfinals and semifinals on May 6 and the championship dual on May 7. The championship will take place in Gulf Shores, Ala., hosted by the City of Gulf Shores, UAB and Gulf Shores | Orange Beach Sports and Events.

FIU, ranked 12th in the latest AVCA poll, will be making its second appearance in the NCAA Championship and first since 2018. For 15th-ranked Florida Atlantic, this marks the Owls' second NCAA berth in school history after making its first appearance last season.
