BVB: Florida Atlantic Earn NCAA Tournament Bid

DALLAS – Florida Atlantic, the Conference USA champion, will represent CUSA in the 2025 NC Beach Volleyball Championship, announced by the NCAA on Sunday.
 
The Sandy Owls (21-14) received the No. 13 seed and will face No. 4 LMU (35-6) in first-round game on Friday, May 2nd at 8 a.m. CT. The winner will advance to the quarterfinals on May 3rd against the winner of No. 5 USC/No. 12 North Florida match at 10 a.m. CT.
 
Florida Atlantic, ranked No. 16 in the latest AVCA poll, will be making its third appearance in the NCAA Championship, since making back-to-back appearances in 2022-23. The Sandy Owls boasts court 1s pair Ashleigh Adams and Marketa Svozilova, who earned All-Tournament Team honors after a perfect 4-0 record during the CUSA Championship. The duo tied the Florida Atlantic’s single-season pair record with a 25-5 record this season.

All 16 seeds will face off in a single-elimination bracket. The first round will take place on May 2, the quarterfinals and semifinals on May 3 and the championship dual on May 4. The championship will take place in Gulf Shores, Ala., hosted by the City of Gulf Shores, University of Alabama at Birmingham and Gulf Shores | Alabama’s Beaches Sports & Events.

The event will be televised live by ESPN networks, with ESPN2 providing live coverage on Friday, May 2 starting at 8 a.m. CT/9 a.m. ET. Live coverage will continue Saturday, May 3 on ESPN2, starting at 9 a.m. CT/10 a.m. ET and the championship dual on Sunday, May 4 at 9:30 a.m. CT/10:30 a.m. ET on ESPN.
