MGOLF: Charlotte, MTSU and Two Individuals Head to NCAA Regionals

DALLAS – Conference USA men's golf champion Charlotte earned the 11th seed in the Morgan Hill Regional, while Middle Tennessee garnered an at-large bid as the 11th seed in the Salem Regional. Additionally, a pair of C-USA individual student-athletes have qualified to compete in the 2023 NCAA Division I Men's Golf Regionals, as announced by the Division I Men's Golf Committee on Wednesday. 

The 49ers won their second consecutive conference crown in Texarkana, Arkansas at the Texarkana Country Club back on April 27, to earn the league's automatic bid, and garner the 11th seed, at The Institute Golf Club in Morgan Hill, California.
 
Middle Tennessee earned an at-large bid, as the Blue Raiders were tabbed the 11th seed in the Salem Regional at The Cliffs at Keowee Falls in Salem, South Carolina.

C-USA individual champion James Swash from Louisiana Tech and North Texas’ Vicente Marzilio are headed to the Norman Regional as individuals.

Six 54-hole regional tournaments will be conducted May 15-17. Thirteen teams and 10 individuals not on those teams will compete at each of three regionals while the other three regionals will have 14 teams and five individuals not on those teams. The top five teams and the low individual not on those teams from each regional will advance to the finals. Team and individual medalist titles will be decided May 26-31 at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona. Arizona State and The Thunderbirds are the hosts for the 2023 championships.

Morgan Hill Regional Site
The Morgan Hill Regional will be played at The Institute Golf Club in Morgan Hill, California, and will be hosted by San Jose State and the San Jose Sports Authority.

Salem Regional Site
The Salem Regional will be played at The Cliffs at Keowee Falls in Salem, South Carolina, and will be hosted by Clemson.
C-USA Team: Middle Tennessee

Norman Regional Site
The Norman Regional will be played at the Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club in Norman, Oklahoma with the University of Oklahoma serving as the host institution.
C-USA Individuals: Vicente Marzilio, North Texas and James Swash, Louisiana Tech
