DALLAS – The 2022-23 Conference USA men’s golf all-conference and superlative honors were announced Monday with Middle Tennessee’s
Owen Stamper named the C-USA Men’s Player of the Year. Player of the Year, Freshman of the Year, all-conference and all-freshman selections are determined the national rankings by Golfstat, while the Coach of the Year was selected by a vote of the league’s head coaches.

Matt Terry was tabbed Coach of the Year after leading the Bulldogs to the final match play round of the Conference USA Championship.
Nine of 10 C-USA men’s golf programs collected all-conference accolades, while four institutions were represented on the all-freshman team. Middle Tennessee led the way with three players represented across the three all-conference teams and also had a pair of all-freshman team members, while Rice, UTSA and Florida Atlantic each placed two on the all-conference squads.
Stamper, the 162
nd-ranked player in the country and a three-time C-USA Golfer of the Week selection, finished second at the 2023 C-USA Championship in Texarkana, Arkansas, at even par and helped lead the Blue Raiders to an NCAA at-large selection that placed Middle Tennessee in the Salem Regional, which gets underway May 15-17.
Varjun is the league’s highest-ranked freshman by Golfstat and was named C-USA Golfer of the Week after finishing in a tie for eighth at the Grover Page Classic with a pair of sub-70 rounds during the fall portion of the season.
Terry’s Bulldogs reached the match play portion of the 2023 C-USA Championship for just the second time in program history, which included a win over No. 2 seed Middle Tennessee to reach the match play finals after finishing third in stroke play. James Swash, a first team all-conference selection also won the individual conference title with a -2 performance during stroke play.
