CUSA Announces Scholar Athletes of the Year

DALLAS – The 2022-23 Conference USA Scholar Athlete of the Year Awards were announced Thursday by the league’s Faculty Athletics Representatives. The awards, voted on by the conference’s 11 FARs, are presented to the top student-athletes in each conference-sponsored sport based on academic achievement (GPA), athletic achievement and service.

The 16 scholar-athletes were selected from C-USA’s full-time and affiliate member institutions across 18 sports (combining indoor and outdoor track & field). Rice men’s basketball player Max Fiedler becomes the second C-USA and Rice student-athlete to earn this award three times. Rice, Middle Tennessee, UAB and UTSA each led the way with three selections.
