VB: October 14 Players of the Week

DALLAS – WKU’s Kaylee Cox and Callie Bauer, along with Kennesaw State’s Olivia Burrage and UTEP’s Landry Braziel earned Conference USA Volleyball Player of the Week honors.

CUSA Offensive Player of the Week – Kaylee Cox, WKU - Sr. – Flower Mound, Texas
Cox led the Hilltoppers to an undefeated week against Middle Tennessee and FIU posting 55 kills on a .293 hitting clip. She had three double-digit kill performances and tallied a total of 10 blocks, 30 digs and seven assists. Overall, Cox totaled 3.24 kills per set and 3.94 points per set.
 
CUSA Defensive Player of the Week – Olivia Burrage, KSU – R-So. – Jefferson, Ga.
Burrage was instrumental in the Owls 4-0 week with wins over Jacksonville State and Liberty, who came into the weekend undefeated in conference play. She recorded a team-high 25 blocks, averaging 1.47 blocks per set. The redshirt sophomore middle blocker recorded a career-high nine blocks on Saturday against Liberty. Burrage also led the team in hitting percentage with .333, posting 32 kills. In the Owls' 3-1 win over Liberty on Sunday, she tallied a career-high 15 kills, adding four blocks and hitting a season-high .684.
 
CUSA Setter of the Week – Callie Bauer, WKU – R-Jr. – Hudson, Mich.
Bauer was all over the scoresheet through four matches with 170 assists, averaging 10 assists per set. She recorded two double-doubles last week, against Middle Tennessee on Wednesday with 39 assists and 15 digs, then on Saturday against FIU with 54 assists and 12 digs. The Hudson, Michigan, native was also responsible for 19 kills on a .372 hitting clip, 10 blocks and four service aces.
 
CUSA Freshman of the Week – Landry Braziel, UTEP – Oklahoma City, Okla.
Braziel played a vital role in UTEP's flawless 4-0 performance, which included victories over New Mexico State and Louisiana Tech. The freshman participated in three matches, making two starts and playing a total of eight sets. Against LA Tech, Braziel had a stellar performance with 18 kills with an impressive .469 hitting percentage. Overall, Landry totaled 23 kills (2.88/set) with a hitting percentage of .439, accumulating 25 points (3.13/set) and four blocks.
