How did becoming a college athlete impact your life?
Becoming a collegiate athlete improved my life more than I could describe. Since I was young, I aimed to get my education paid for through college athletics. Did I know I would be a student-athlete for any longer than four scholastic years? Not a chance, but I am glad I have been given more opportunities to learn and grow.
What are you planning for your professional career after college?
Whenever my football career comes to an end, I intend to work in sports. Whether it is as a coach, scout, administrative role, marketing, or fan engagement. I want to still be around sports.
What was/is your favorite class and why?
My favorite class at the moment is Marketing Strategy. I have always enjoyed marketing classes and other classes that allow for real world applications to be applied.
What’s the best advice you received from your coaches or teammates?
The best piece of advice I have received since coming to MTSU has been, “Life is fair because it is unfair to everybody.” Through my time in college, I have been able to overcome many obstacles with that thought in mind.
What piece of advice would you have for current student-athletes?
A piece of advice I would give to other student-athletes is to enjoy the time and learn how to be a professional. There is a balance between being professional, and not taking everything so seriously. I think of many times I would not enjoy enjoyable aspects of life by being too serious. I would have told this to my younger self and even my younger brother as he starts collegiate athletics.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I enjoy playing video games, reading comics, watching movies, being active (when I am healthy), and spending time with friends. I overly enjoy the landscape of sports so watching sports and analyzing games is another hobby of mine.
