DALLAS – WKU’s Cheyanne Sales, Liberty’s Katie Love and NM State’s Desirae Spearman earned Conference USA Softball weekly honors, presented by Blenders Eyewear.
 
Richard becomes the second Hilltopper to be named Player of the Week this season, while Love collects her first Pitcher of the Week honor. Spearman garners her third Freshman of the Week title.
 
Player of the Week – Cheyanne Sales, WKU – Redshirt Junior – DP – Chattanooga, Tenn.
Sales slugged 1.125 and operated with a .625 batting average in the Tops' (18-8-1, 5-1 CUSA) three-game series sweep over FIU at home. She picked up a total of eight RBI off of five hits, including her second home run of the season in Sunday's 11-10 win over the Panthers. Sales helped WKU to a hot start in Saturday’s run-rule victory with a two-run double in the opening frame, and she went 2-3 with four RBI in Sunday’s comeback win, including a sac fly to tie the game in the sixth.
 
Pitcher of the Week – Katie Love, Liberty – Freshman – P – Pembroke, Va.
Love was nearly unhittable on the week, recording her first career no-hitter and posting a 2-0 record with a 0.50 ERA and 12 strikeouts in 14 innings of work. She allowed just three hits on the week. On Saturday, Love became the first Liberty freshman since 2016 to toss a no-hitter, needing just 79 pitches to go the distance in a 2-0 victory for the Flames (14-12, 5-1 CUSA). With Liberty leading 4-1 on Sunday, Love came in and proceeded to toss five scoreless innings of relief to get her second win in a row. She struck out a career-high seven batters and gave up just two hits and a walk.  
 
Freshman of the Week – Desirae Spearman, NM State – Freshman – UT – El Paso, Texas
The true freshman led the Aggies (14-11, 4-2 CUSA) in batting average, hits, home runs and RBI on the weekend to help NM State earn a road sweep of Sam Houston. She recorded at least one hit and one RBI in every game while accounting for half of the Aggies’ RBI during the series. Spearman went 3-4 with a two-run home run in the series opener on Friday, belted a three-run blast on Saturday and drove in the Aggies’ lone run during a 1-0 win on Sunday.
