DALLAS – Conference USA announced Thursday its fifth CUSA golf weekly honors for the 2024 spring campaign. New Mexico State’s Emma Bunch is a back-to-back winner, after she was a co-champion at the Momentum Transportation UNF Collegiate to pick up her fourth CUSA Women’s Golfer of the Week nod this year. On the men’s side, Middle Tennessee’s Kevin Jegers earned his second CUSA Men’s Golfer of the Week honors this season and first of the spring following his 13th-place finish at the Colleton River Collegiate. The 2023-24 CUSA Athletes of the Week awards are presented by Blenders Eyewear.
 
CUSA Women’s Golfer of the Week – Emma Bunch, NM State, So., Lynge, Denmark
One week after running away with the individual title at the GCU Invitational, Bunch battled her way to a co-title at the UNF Collegiate in Jacksonville, Florida. After shooting a 68 (-4) in the first round to find herself four shots off the lead, Bunch posted a 67 (-5) in the second round to mark the lowest second round score of any individual and pull her within two strokes of the leader. She then improved her placement again on the final day of the tournament as she shot a three-under-par 69 to pull even with Christin Eisenbeiss of the host institution, North Florida. For the week, Bunch ranked second in average score on the par 3s, third on the par 4s and second on the par 5s. She also ranked second in total birdies among individuals in Jacksonville.
 
CUSA Men’s Golfer of the Week – Kevin Jegers, MTSU, Sr., Tallinn, Estonia
Jegers tied for 13th at the Colleton River Collegiate with a score of 209 (-7), setting a new season low 54-hole score. He was under par in each round, including a 68 (-4) in the third round that featured six birdies. His 11 birdies for the tournament were the most by a Blue Raider. Jegers finished five strokes off the lead in a tournament that featured eight power conference teams and 11 top-100 teams in the latest Scoreboard rankings.
