RUSTON – No. 5 Liberty defeated top-seeded Louisiana Tech 6-2 to move into semifinals on Saturday in the 2024 Super 1 Foods CUSA Baseball Championship on Friday afternoon from J.C. Love Field at Pat Patterson Park on the campus of Louisiana Tech University.
Liberty left-hander
Nick Moran delivered a gem on the hill. The southpaw gave the Flames 7.1 scoreless innings until giving up a two-run shot before exiting the game. Moran finished with six strikeouts and just two walks.
Three Flames went yard as
Camden Troyer hit his third of the tournament.
Cam Foster went back-to-back with Troyer and
Todd Hudson launched a solo shot in the top of the ninth.
Liberty moves to 2-0 on the week and will await the winner between No. 1 LA Tech and No. 4 Sam Houston.
