CUSA Offensive Player of the Week – Yasso Amin, NM State - Gr. – Cairo, Egypt
Amin led the Aggies in nearly every offensive category over the weekend, as NM State racked up two wins along the way. The Egypt native poured in 37 kills (3.70 per set) posting an impressive .388 hitting percentage across three matches. On defense, her 25 digs (2.50 per set) ranked third on the team. Amin posted 22 kills and a .553 hitting percentage on Friday before tallying 15 kills against Arizona on Saturday.
CUSA Defensive Player of the Week – Hannah Baker, Sam Houston - Sr. – Deer Park, Texas
Baker recorded double-digit digs in each of the three matches at the UTSA Tournament. She had 66 total digs on the weekend, averaging 5.50 digs per set. Against UTSA on Saturday, Baker had a season-high 23 digs and chipped in six assists. The senior libero leads all CUSA players in digs per set with 4.88.
CUSA Co-Setter of the Week – Mattie Gantt, UTEP – Jr. – Aledo, Texas
Gantt played a key role in directing the Miners' offense at the South Dakota Classic, recording 62 assists (5.64 per set),23 digs (2.09 per set), two aces and one kill. UTEP posted a 2-1 record, highlighted by a dominant sweep of Power 4 opponent Iowa State. Working alongside
Kalia Kohler, Gantt helped guide UTEP to a .262 hitting percentage throughout the tournament.
CUSA Co-Setter of the Week – Kalia Kohler, UTEP – So. – Alpine, Utah
Kohler was instrumental in the Miners’ 2-1 weekend, tallying 64 assists (5.82 per set), 27 digs (2.45 per set) and four kills. Kohler, along with
Mattie Gantt, combined for 126 assists (11.45 per set) throughout the tournament.
CUSA Freshman of the Week – Andi Spies, MTSU – Fort Atkinson, Wis.
Spies had another great weekend at the College of Charleston Invitational. She recorded 40 plus assists in all three matches, with a dominant performance of 51 assists in a 3-1 win over Robert Morris. In addition to her setting, she also posted 27 digs, 13 kills and nine blocks. The Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, native leads MTSU in aces after tallying five over the weekend.
