What is/was your professional path after college?
I was fortunate to have an incredibly diverse professional experience post graduation. I have been in education, fitness and health and even the service industry. Each of these experiences taught me invaluable life lessons and character traits. Three years ago, I started working for Knight Eady. We are a sports marketing and event management agency headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama.
What do you enjoy about your current position/profession?
I love the people I work with and I love what we get to do. From neutral site college basketball games and conference tournaments to high school state championships, we have the opportunity to help curate unforgettable experiences for fans and athletes alike. Being on this side of sports is incredibly fun and rewarding. And to now be working alongside the same conference I used to play for is a pretty full circle moment!
What did your time as a student-athlete mean to you?
Everything. It honestly probably means more now than it did back then because I can look back and appreciate what being a student-athlete did for me. Not only did I get to play collegiate baseball but it helped my parents pay for my education. I met some of my closest friends and got to travel the country. Not many people can say all of those things.
What are you most proud of from your college experience?
Graduating with honors while staying committed to playing Division I baseball.
What is your most fond memory of college athletics?
My teammates. Nothing can compare to being with a group of guys day in and day out who are all grinding with the same purpose. I met some of my best friends on that team who I still stay in touch with today.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I love fitness and pickleball. If I’m not fitnessing or on the courts then I’m probably finding the next bingeworthy tv show with my girlfriend or hiking with our dogs.
What piece of advice would you have for current student-athletes?
Work hard and remember that sometimes in order to lead you have to serve.
