DALLAS – Jacksonville State’s Mostapha El Moutaouakkil and WKU’s Armelo Boone earned Conference USA Men’s Basketball weekly honors. The 2025-26 Players of the Week are voted on by the league’s sports information directors.
 
CUSA Player of the Week – Mostapha El Moutaouakkil, Jax State – Sr. – G – Rabat, Morocco
El Moutaouakkil guided the Gamecocks (3-0) to a pair of victories, averaging 26.5 points including a 33-point output in a 74-67 win over Coastal Carolina. The senior from Rabat, Morocco, also averaged 7.5 rebounds per game while shooting 52.9 percent (18-34) from the field and 50 percent (5-10) from beyond the arc. Through two weeks of action, El Moutaouakkil leads Conference USA in scoring (26.7) this season. 
 
CUSA Freshman of the Week – Armelo Boone, WKU – Fr. – G – Lexington, Ky.
Boone showcased a superb week as he helped lead the Hilltoppers (3-0) to a 2-0 record on the week. The freshman guard averaged 12.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.0 steals in the two triumphs. The Lexington, Ky., native scored 12 of his 14 points against EKU in the second half, shooting 6-13 from the floor. Boone is the first WKU freshman in at least the last 20 years with 10-plus points, five-plus rebounds, five-plus assists and three-plus steals in a single game.
