Eric Dibami earned Conference USA Men’s Basketball weekly honors. The 2025-26 Players of the Week are voted on by the league’s sports information directors.
CUSA Player of the Week – Kaden Metheny, Liberty – R-Sr. – G – Morgantown, W. Va.
Metheny delivered a clutch performance for the Flames (9-3, 1-0 CUSA) in their thrilling overtime win over the Panthers in Miami on Sunday. The redshirt senior guard poured in his second 25-plus point effort of the season with 25 points and six assists in a 97-94 win on the road to open league action. Metheny knocked down a season-high six triples in the triumph with the biggest one coming in overtime to give Liberty an 89-86 advantage. He also dished out six assists which is his second highest output on the year.
CUSA Freshman of the Week – Eric Dibami, FIU – Fr. – F – Yaounde, Cameroon
Dibami had a breakout week as he averaged a double-double with 16.5 points and 10.5 rebounds while shooting 71.4 percent (15-21) from the floor. The freshman forward led FIU (7-5, 0-1 CUSA) to a 1-1 week with a monster win over Trinity College and a tight loss in overtime to conference foe Liberty. In the win on Monday, Dibami scored 12 points and grabbed a career-high 12 boards. Against preseason favorite Liberty and CUSA debut, he recorded a career-high 21-point performance to go along with nine rebounds. He is the first Panther freshman with 21 and nine since 2012.
