WBB: Conference USA Announces All-Academic Team

DALLAS – Conference USA tabbed five student-athletes to its 2024-25 CUSA Women’s Basketball All-Academic Teams, announced on Thursday. Five schools are represented in Liberty, MTSU, NM State, Sam Houston and UTEP.
 
The only repeat member of the all-academic squad, Liberty guard Emma Hess owns a 3.78 GPA in her pursuit of a master’s in sport management. She has started every game for the Lady Flames, leads the team in minutes played (25.3) and ranks third on the team in scoring (10.1) and second in assists (2.3).
 
MTSU guard Jalynn Gregory is pursuing a Master of Professional Studies with a concentration in strategic leadership and boasts a perfect 4.00 GPA. Earlier this season, she became the program’s all-time leader in career three pointers, and she ranks 16th nationally in three pointers per game (2.69). 
 
In addition to leading CUSA and ranking 17th nationally in scoring (20.3), NM State guard Molly Kaiser has an unblemished 4.00 GPA as an MBA candidate. The Watauga, Texas, native also leads the team in field-goal percentage (.477), assists (2.3) and steals (1.8).
 
Sam Houston forward Deborah Ogayemi has also maintained a flawless 4.00 GPA in her pursuit of an MBA and paces the Bearkats in field-goal percentage (.507) and rebounds (7.4), while ranking second on the team in scoring (12.1). She has recorded a team-high six double-doubles on the year.
 
A recipient of the CUSA Commissioner’s Academic Medal, UTEP forward Luisa Vydrova owns a perfect 4.00 GPA in environmental science. She is averaging 9.6 points at a 50.9 percent clip, while averaging 5.5 rebounds, 1.4 steals and nearly a steal per game.
