How did becoming a college athlete impact your life?
Becoming a college athlete has impacted many areas of my life. Moving to America from Australia at 18 years of age meant that I had to grow up quickly. I had to manage my time and improve my organizational skills to manage my class and basketball schedule. I had to make sure I had food available, extra workouts and make some time for myself.
What are you planning for your professional career after college?
My plan going forward after my college career is to play professional basketball in Australia. I have had a great college career and know that I can compete at the top level in Australia and strongly believe that a contract will come my way. After my athletic career I plan to find work which will most likely be athletic or business related which is why I am planning to finish my MBA.
What was/is your favorite class and why?
My favorite class this semester has been my accounting class. Even though it was a hard class my professor made it a fun experience and was extremely helpful in getting my credits and passing the course.
What’s the best advice you received from your coaches or teammates?
My best advice that I have received in my career so far is to control what I can control. You can spend energy focusing on parts of life which you have no control. You need to make the most of what you can control and that will lead to the outcome that you want.
What piece of advice would you have for current student-athletes?
Advice that I would give to another student athlete is to make the most of the years you have. Being a student athlete is special, and most athletes only have 4 years before they hit the real world. Go out and make as many connections as possible and enjoy the people and places around you. Make the most of your time!
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
In my free time I love listening to music, watching movies, playing other sports like golf, but most of all hanging with my friends.
