Simeon Cottle and
Trey Simpson earned Conference USA Men’s Basketball weekly honors. The 2025-26 Players of the Week are voted on by the league’s sports information directors.
CUSA Player of the Week – Simeon Cottle, Kennesaw State – Sr. – G – College Park, Ga.
Cottle claims Player of the Week honors for the second time this season after averaging 26.5 points and leading the Owls (10-6, 2-3 CUSA) to a pair of home victories over Missouri State and Jax State. Kennesaw State handed MSU its first loss of league play behind Cottle’s 25 points and 11 assists, to give him his first career double-double. The senior guard became the fifth player to reach 1500 career points on Wednesday night. In the win over rival Jax State, he finished with 28 points, including 19 in the first half. The College Park, Ga., native, was 5-9 from downtown, setting a new KSU career record for most three-pointers, as his current total is now 237. Cottle ranks first in CUSA in scoring at 20.2 points per game.
CUSA Freshman of the Week – Trey Simpson, Kennesaw State – Fr. – F – Evergreen, Ala.
Simpson joins his teammate with his second honor of the campaign after pushing Kennesaw State to two crucial wins after a tough start to league action. The freshman forward averaged 12.5 points and 5.0 rebounds while going 8-17 from beyond the arc. His eight three-pointers and 47.1 three-point percentage led CUSA during the week. The Evergreen, Ala., native, piled up six rejections which was tied for the most by a CUSA player during the week as well.
