GOLF: February 18 Golfers of the Week

DALLAS – UTEP’s Amelia Fridlund and Louisiana Tech’s Morton Bailey have been named Conference USA’s Golfers of the Week.
 
Energy Transfer CUSA Women’s Golfer of the Week – Amelia Fridlund, UTEP – So. – Karlskoga, Sweden
Fridlund led UTEP to the team title at the BGSU Women’s Intercollegiate in Litchfield Park, Ariz., marking the program’s first tournament team championship since April 9, 2019, while also capturing individual medalist honors. Fridlund climbed three spots on the final day to finish 3-under par, carding rounds of 70, 69, and 69 (210), with her second-round 69 tying a career-low round score. Her 210 is a career-best 54-hole total and stands as the second-lowest individual 54-hole score in program history. The performance marked the first individual victory of her collegiate career and capped a milestone week for the Miners.
 
CUSA Men's Golfer of the Week – Morton Bailey, LA Tech – So. – Crawley, England  
Bailey put together his best collegiate performance at the Hal Williams Collegiate, tying for ninth overall. The sophomore finished under par in all three rounds, shooting 67-69-69=205 (-5). The Bulldog would outduel seven players ranked in the top-150 in the country for his first career top-10 finish and his fourth top-20 finish of the season.
