HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – No. 6 Kennesaw State (20-13, 10-10 CUSA) advances to the championship final, defeating No. 2 Sam Houston (22-11, 13-7 CUSA) 79-73 in the semifinal round of the 2026 Air National Guard CUSA Championship Friday afternoon at Propst Arena at the Von Braun Center.

Amir Taylor popped off for 17 second half points as he totaled a game-high 23 points in the upset win. Taylor finished 8-11 from the field and 3-5 from downtown.
RJ Johnson added 20 points with five rebounds and six assists.
Frankquon Sherman also made a huge impact in the second half. Sherman had 17 points with 14 coming in the second frame.
The Owls are headed to their first CUSA title game appearance since joining the league in the 2024-25 campaign.
No. 6 Kennesaw State is set to face off with No. 4 LA Tech on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. CT on
CBS Sports Network. Both squads are looking to secure their first CUSA tournament championship.
