MGOLF: NM State’s Delgadillo Named Individual Champion, Semifinals Set for Thursday

TEXARKANA, Ark. – After a competitive final round of stroke play at the Texarkana Country Club (par 72, 6,969 yards), New Mexico State’s Javier Delgadillo was named the Conference USA Men’s Golf Individual Champion. On the team level, UTEP, NM State, Liberty and Middle Tennessee secured a spot in Thursday morning’s match play semifinals.
 
It was a tight race for first place, but Delgadillo was able to pull ahead after putting up a strong 68 (-4) in Round 3. The senior shot -11 (71-66-68) overall to claim the conference title and help put his team in good standing to advance to match play.
 
There was a three-way tie for second place between UTEP’s Alexandre Godin (68-69-70) and Dylan Teeter (71-63-73), and NM State’s Mateo Payan (67-70-70), each recording -9 on the week. Tying for fifth, was Middle Tennessee’s Carter Maneth (74-67-67) and UTEP’s Pat Foley (69-68-71) with -8. As the top five, they were named to the 2026 CUSA All-Tournament Team.
 
The Miners (-31) led the team leaderboard, followed by NM State (-29), Liberty (-17) and MTSU (-17). With the top four placement, they will advance to the semifinals on Thursday morning. Semifinals are done in match play format and will begin at 8 a.m. CT. The top two teams will advance to the match play final, scheduled for a 1 p.m. tee time. Both the semifinals and final will be streamed on ESPN+.
